I know God has called me to be a writer. I also know writing can be hard work and involves discipline.
I'm wiping my brow because I just completed revising a children's fiction chapter book after it went to an editor for a quick overview of the book. The editing resulted in an additional chapter to the book and several major fixes. Now I'm ready to work with a line-on-line editor to do the nitty-gritty work.
I need to remind myself that I do enjoy writing. The writing process of perfecting the book, not so much. I'm not suggesting I work at it until it's a perfect book. I do need to work at it until it's a better book. And that's where good editors come in.
I'm learning a lot in my journey to get this book published. That's a good thing. I've met some talented folks along the way who are more than willing to help me reach my goal. That's a cool thing. I'm nearing the finish line. That's a rewarding thing.
Overall, it has been an enjoyable journey. And now I'm about ready to embark on another journey...the continuation of the story line into book two. Whoo-hoo.
